Privacy Policy

Shardcut ("Shardcut," "we," "us") is operated by Royalty Media LLC. This policy explains what information Shardcut collects, how we use and share it, and how you can delete it. You must agree to this policy before using Shardcut's features.
Shardcut uses YouTube API Services
Shardcut uses YouTube API Services to post clips to your YouTube channel when you connect it. By using that feature you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
- Waitlist: your email address and, if you choose, whether you are a clipper, creator or agency.
- Account: your name and email address from Google sign in, and a login for Shardcut.
- Your videos: long videos you upload, the clips Shardcut makes from them, and the titles, descriptions and settings you choose.
- YouTube data (only if you connect YouTube): an OAuth token Google gives us, your channel ID, name and avatar, and the IDs, processing status and view counts of clips Shardcut posted for you. We never see or store your Google password.
- Other platforms: if you connect TikTok or Instagram, the tokens and post details those platforms provide.
- Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) kept by our hosting provider for security.
How we use it
- To make clips and post them to the platforms you select, using the title, description and privacy setting you approve. We do not post anything to YouTube without your approval, and we do not change the values you set.
- To show you which channel is connected and the status of your posts.
- To email you about the waitlist, your account and important service changes.
We do not sell your information, use YouTube data for ads, or use it for any purpose not described here.
How we share it
- YouTube, TikTok and Instagram: we send your clip and its details to the platforms you choose to post to.
- Service providers: hosting (Netlify), storage and processing providers, and a posting service (such as Upload-Post) if we use one to deliver your clip. They may use your data only to provide services to us.
- Legal: if required by law, or to protect our users and service.
Your YouTube data is shown only to you and people you expressly approve.
Cookies and device data
The current site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and no third parties serve ads on Shardcut. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address. If we add cookies or analytics, we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded long videos and generated clips: up to 30 days, unless you delete them sooner.
- YouTube data: refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days. View counts are rechecked against your authorization every 30 days.
- Waitlist emails: until you ask us to remove you or the waitlist ends.
Deleting your data and revoking access
- Delete my data: use Delete my data in your account settings or email us. We delete it within 7 days. This does not delete anything on YouTube. To remove a video from YouTube, use YouTube or YouTube Studio.
- Disconnect YouTube: click Disconnect YouTube in Shardcut. We revoke our token with Google right away and delete your YouTube data within 7 days.
- Revoke from Google: you can also remove Shardcut's access at any time on the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. When we detect that, we delete your YouTube data within 30 days.
Security
We use HTTPS for all traffic, limit who can access user data, and store tokens encrypted.
Children
Shardcut is not directed to children and is for users 18 and older.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and ask you to accept the new policy before continuing.
